An elegant and striking vintage 9ct gold amethyst solitaire ring, hallmarked in London in 1970 by maker JB. The ring features a large, richly hued deep purple oval-cut amethyst, securely held within an ornate crown-style setting. Six substantial claws rise seamlessly from the intricate crown gallery, offering both strength and decorative flair.
Beneath the crown, a distinctive "hat rim"-inspired lower gallery is adorned with intricate bright-cut goldwork, designed to catch the light and add a subtle sparkle with every movement.
Inside the band there are clear hallmarks for London 1970 and the makers mark JB.
